Software-Based Wind Energy Potential Assessment: A Case Study from Western Turkey

In this research, wind energy potential of a specific region in Western Turkey has been analyzed by using WindPRO software. The site is located Ayvacık district Çanakkale province Turkey. Two types turbines with 3 MW power including Enercon E-101/3000 and Nordex N117/3000 have selected for the analyses. Weibull distribution utilized assessment. Also, average speed values prevailing directions calculated locations region. direction was determined as NNW SSE, respectively. Estimated electrical generation were obtained between 10177-11925 MWh/year 9283-10954 MWh/year, Moreover, shape scale parameters each annual location within scope work.
